Workshop Schedule

Time Per Day: 9am - 16pm Central European Time 
1h break for lunch

Maximum size: 15 participants

Minimum size: 8 participants 

You will also be able to join our Workshop Discord to ask questions during the three-day event and engage with fellow participants even after the workshop concludes.
 

Format:

Class meets 6 hours everyday on Google meet; Google Meet class is recorded

Participants have access to class recordings, and lecture notes for 1 month after class ends

Homework to be uploaded to Google Drive folder

Workshop Summary

In these sessions, through a mix of theory sessions, live demos with Q&A and feedback sessions, you will work on a piece of your choosing, a keyframe, an illustration, a concept art image or the style of one of our projects and I will give you feedback on the work you present. I will guide you through the process of researching the visual look of a project with practical demonstrations, moodboard and ideas map, and creating thumbnails, sketches and final images. I will prepare 5 stories so you can choose from them and develop a style and a styleframe of it, or you can bring your own story.

In the theory sessions we will dive into concept art, styleframes and Art Direction focusing on unravelling the power of images in storytelling, diving into the core of them. I will share techniques I have professionally used on  productions like Wolfwalkers, Star Wars Visions or League of Legends and other films at companies such as Cartoon Saloon, Axis/ Riot Games or Disney. 

We will explore the practical aspects of daily operations in production, encompassing both large intellectual properties and independent projects. I will demonstrate effective strategies for showcasing your work and optimizing your time on the production, as well as share insights on how to effectively lead and manage teams of varying sizes based on my direct experience.

Homework assignments are given everyday and I will provide live critiques in the next Google Meet class.

By the end of the workshop, participants will end up with at least one finished image, several studies, ideas map, moodboard and a stronger understanding of the storytelling on an image and how to use and create a style.

What happens if I miss a live class?

No worries. All classes are conducted live but will also be recorded and made available on my platform. This allows you to watch them at your convenience throughout the course's duration. So, if you can't attend a live class at the scheduled time, you can still access them on the platform until the course concludes. These video classes on the platform are accessible as many times as you like while the course is ongoing, but they cannot be downloaded or copied. They will also remain accessible for 30 days after the course ends.
